KALMATRON-E- Penetrating Waterproofing Material
KALMATRON-E – Moisture-resistant and ecologically friendly waterproofing material. It serves dual purposes, functioning both as an application and filler.
Preparation of the material involves placing 3-4 kg of KALMATRON-E in a construction grinder. Gradually add water in small doses and stir the mixture with a mixer for 1-2 minutes at low speed. The desired outcome is a thin cream-like consistency for application and a thicker consistency for use as filler.
Method of use:
Option I – Application Form:
- Open the pores on the treated surface using an iron brush, perforator, or any other convenient tool.
- Once the pores are open, thoroughly wash the surface.
- Following the washing, prime the surface with a KALMATRON-E solution (using a 1:4 ratio of KALMATRON to water).
- Treat the primed surface with a second layer of KALMATRON-E solution (thin consistency) no later than 10 minutes after priming.
- Ensure that the surface treated with KALMATRON-E is watered several times, particularly in the first 6-10 hours. Continue the watering process for a total duration of 72 hours.
*The material cost in application form is 2.0-3.0 kg/m2.
*To guarantee results, it is essential to strictly adhere to the processing technology.
Option II – Filler Application:
Reservoir Processing Technology
- Utilize a perforator to open cold seams on the concrete surface, including vertical and horizontal corners between wall-to-wall and wall-to-floor (referred to as “sticks”) at a depth of 3-4 cm.
- Open the pores on the concrete surface to be processed using an iron brush, perforator, or another suitable tool.
- Wash the treated surface thoroughly using a scrubber.
- Following the washing, prime the opened grooves and the surface to be treated with a KALMATRON-N solution (using 1:3 ratio of KALMATRON to water).
- Fill the primed grooves with a thick mass of KALMATRON-E within 15-20 minutes at the latest.
- Apply a second layer to the surface using KALMATRON-E with a thin cream-like consistency.
- Ensure thorough watering of the surface treated with KALMATRON-E, especially in the initial 6-10 hours. Continue the watering process for a minimum of 72 hours.
*The material cost varies based on the intensity and pressure of water filtration, ranging from 10 kg to 20 kg/m2 and beyond.
*To ensure a guaranteed result, it is imperative to strictly adhere to the processing technology.
Attention: A distinctive feature of KALMATRON is its exceptional ability to deeply penetrate porous materials such as concrete, block, and brick. The chemical reagents in KALMATRON effectively make a calmatation (i.e., close the pores) in concrete, screed, and plastered surface. Before use, it is crucial to verify that the existing workable concrete/screed/plastered surface has not been admixed with materials whose chemical data may be incompatible with KALMATRON. Failure to do so may impede KALMATRON’s ability to penetrate the concrete pores, resulting in the failure to achieve the desired outcome.
